The San Bernardo Neighborhood is a special place for me. When I arrived in Seville as a young man in 1994, I rented my apartment in this neighborhood, on Gallinato Street 😄, and I enjoyed it really a lot.
If you’re considering where to stay in Seville to enjoy both history and calm, San Bernardo is a great option. Located just outside the old city walls via Puerta de la Carne, it has a rich heritage. At the gate’s exit, there used to be a slaughterhouse and a military camp. The San Bernardo Bridge (also called the firefighters’ bridge) crosses the railway and connects to Santa Cruz via Santa María la Blanca Street. Points of interest include the 17th-century Parish of San Bernardo, the Royal Artillery Factory, and the Palace and Gardens of La Buhaira, originally from the 11th century.
We recommend the terrace for dining or enjoying a good cocktail.
