I’ve had the opportunity to witness the great change this beautiful city has undergone, and continues to undergo.

🧡🧡🧡🧡 Our opinion about Seville best neighborhoods to stay: winner Barrio Arenal
The Arenal Neighborhood is a historical enclave in Seville, named after a large sandy beach on the banks of the Guadalquivir River that was used as a privileged port area for trade with America.
Located in the heart of the old town of Seville, in the Arenal Neighborhood, you can visit the Maestranza Bullring, the Gold Tower, and the Maestranza Theater. The Arenal neighborhood is explored by walking along the banks of the Guadalquivir from the Gold Tower to the Triana Bridge.

🧡🧡 One of the best neighborhoods to stay in Seville without the crowds of the Holy Week: Barrio Triana
The Triana Neighborhood is recognized for its authenticity and independent spirit. Triana is a unique experience within Seville.
The Triana neighborhood is located on the other side of the Guadalquivir River, opposite Arenal. Without the tourist hustle of central Seville, Triana provides easy access to the center via the Triana and San Telmo bridges. A defining view of Seville is Betis Street in Triana from Arenal (which you can see in the cover photo).
Some of the most beautiful places in Seville that you shouldn’t miss are in this neighborhood: Pureza Street, the potters, Betis Street, the Inquisition Alley… you’ll also find renowned bars and restaurants like Casa Ruperto, Bar Casa Casimiro, etc.

🧡🧡🧡 My best neighborhood in Seville near Seville center: San Bernardo
The San Bernardo Neighborhood is a special place for me. When I arrived in Seville as a young man in 1994, I rented my apartment in this neighborhood, on Gallinato Street 😄, and I enjoyed it really a lot.
The San Bernardo neighborhood is located just outside the old wall of Seville through the Puerta de la Carne. At the exit of this gate, there was a slaughterhouse and a military camp. The San Bernardo Bridge (known as the firefighters’ bridge) allowed crossing the railway tracks and entering the Santa Cruz quarter via Santa María la Blanca Street. In San Bernardo, you can find the 17th-century Parish of San Bernardo; the Royal Artillery Factory; and the Palace and Gardens of La Buhaira, Almohad constructions from the 11th century.

We recommend the terrace for dining or enjoying a good cocktail.
You can watch life in Seville without being seen.
Interesting Facts
The San Bernardo neighborhood originated from the military camps ordered by Fernando III the Saint for the conquest of Seville outside the walls, right where the Arab gardens of La Buhaira were located (Campamento Street in the neighborhood recalls this military origin).
The Brotherhood of San Bernardo processes on Holy Wednesday with two images, a Christ and a Virgin, making it one of the longest processions in Seville with over 2,100 penitents.
We are pleased to recommend La Bernarda restaurant right at the entrance of the neighborhood, a beautiful place with food for all five senses.
Recommended Hotels
- Hotel Giralda Center: a very new hotel, with a gym and a rooftop pool. 5 minutes from Murillo Gardens and Plaza de España.
- Hotel Sevilla Center: another of the newest hotels in Seville, with a rooftop pool and a quiet location but close to everything. Located on the side of the Guaira Gardens with views of the center of the San Bernardo neighborhood.
- Hotel Alfonso XIII: the most luxurious and renowned hotel in Seville (probably also the most expensive) now belongs to the American Marriott chain. A 1920 building in neo-Mudejar style with three floors. Its interior is a lesson in luxury with good taste. By the way, in the hotel’s gardens, there is the Japanese restaurant Kaede in a wooden cabin.
🧡🧡 Accommodation in Alameda: the bohemian best neighborhood Seville
Built in 1574 on a marshland of the Guadalquivir River, it forms a very elongated square. At the entrance, there are two large columns topped with statues of Hercules and Julius Caesar, considered the founders of Seville.
The Alameda de Hércules is recommended for its good nightlife atmosphere and alternative culture. This area is more secluded, to the north of the city: a 7-minute walk from the Setas de Sevilla and 15 minutes from the Giralda (it’s not that far). A downside: parking is difficult, we do not recommend going with your own vehicle. It’s an area with excellent value for money and a trendy alternative cultural space in the city.

period decoration and at the foot of Alameda de Hércules.
Interesting Facts
- The famous Spanish romantic writer Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer was born in 1836 in Alameda de Hércules.
- For a long time, Alameda de Hércules was an area that was completely flooded by the Guadalquivir River, even becoming navigable.
Unique Experience
The Hotel Patio de la Alameda, located in a 19th-century mansion, offers a charming atmosphere and a unique style with its three Andalusian patios full of flowers in the emblematic Alameda de Hércules Square.
Alameda de Hércules is known for being one of the best areas in Seville to enjoy a good beer in the fresh air, go to the cinema, or enjoy one of its bookstores. Additionally, it is the oldest public garden in Europe, which adds a special charm to any stay in the area.
Another of our recommendations is the Hotel Sacristía de Santa Ana: luxury without pretension and at an appropriate price.
